Cutest Kitty on the Block

Abigail was a white kitty for Halloween, and she was so cute. She loved her outfit. Her hood stayed up the whole time, and she loved showing everyone her tail. And, she loved getting the candy!

My new favorite website....

My cousin, Jeri, told me about this website: yearbookyourself.com, and it is my new favorite website. Look at these hilarious pictures.

Annie in a 1984 yearbook would look like this:

Annie in a 1952 yearbook would look like this:

Annie in 1974 would look like this

Annie in1976 would look like this:

I can't decide if I was meant to graduate high school in 1952 or 1976.....

Morning people

This is how Abigail wakes up in the morning and after every nap:

She is always so happy to be awake. And, after two years, I still walk into her room a little perplexed. Why doesn't she want to sleep just a little longer? Why isn't she mad at me because she knows I heard her awake in her crib 20 minutes ago and I am just now getting her out? Why is she so happy in the mornings? She definitely gets this from her dad. I would post a picture of my other example of morning people, Adrian, but I am always still asleep when he leaves for work in the morning....

Oh, and I have to say so I won't sound so lazy--he leaves at 6:15 in the morning, and he is not going to seminary.

I also have to say that Abigail does the cutest thing when I walk into her room to get her out of the crib, she will lean up against the side of the crib and rest her elbow on the side and cross her ankles and carry on a totally one sided gibberish conversation peppered with fake laughs and head nodding. It is hilarious, I'm trying to get a video of it, but she starts shouting cheese whenever she sees a camera these days so it is hard to capture real life.

Why I haven't written in a month....

I always said that I wanted to get pregnant when Abigail was two years old, and it happened right on schedule. I am due in April. So, this past month I haven't felt like blogging because I've been sick and tired and grumpy. I'm 10 1/2 weeks, and am so ready to be done throwing up and feeling nauseous. We are excited to have a baby brother or sister for Abigail, but a little nervous to have two. Abigail loves babies much. I think she is going to freak out a little bit, though, because she is the only grandchild on both sides and very spoiled.

Chuck-E-Cheese

Abigail turned 2 this weekend. We had such a great time celebrating her birthday. We celebrated her birthday on Saturday at Chuck-E-Cheese. It was quite an experience. I had this vision before the party of the kids sitting around eating pizza, then they went and used their tokens, and then we came back and had cake and opened presents. Let's just say that only happened in my dreams. We get to Chuck-E-Cheese, the kids are immediately overwhelmed and excited, they run around like chickens with their heads cut off for an hour with parents trying to get them to eat some pizza. They only came back with the tokens were gone. By that time they are totally exhausted and overstimulated, and then we feed them cupcakes! Cue meltdown. But, I will have to say that the kids had a really great time, and Abigail loved it. I can't believe my baby is 2!!!!!

Abigail celebrated with her friends, Lucas, Holland, and Stone.

This were supposed to be Elmo cupcakes, but I could never get the Elmo faces right, so they were red icing with sprinkles--sorry Abigail.

This was Abigail's present from Adrian and me. She loves to jump!

My parents got her this battery-operated car. At first she was very scared of it, but now all she wants to do is "Ride, mama!" It would be a lot more pleasant for me to let her ride if she knew how to steer, but all she wants to do is push the accelerator, and we have to jog beside her making sure she doesn't hit trees.

Amish Extravaganza

What kind of vacation to you go on when you are adding on to your house? The vacation your mother pays for.....and that, my friends is why I had an "Amish Extravaganza 2008."

Unfortunately, I was not actually allowed to drive the Amish buggy, an Amish guy with a very thick German accent drove it. But he would not get his picture taken because they think it is a graven image. (This vacation was educational, too).

Highlights of the trip:
  • Visiting a cheese factory--you can't fathom the many flavors of American cheese this place produces. Two examples: Chilli Cheese Cheese and Butter Cheese.
  • Eating Amish food--wonderful baked goods
  • Shopping at crafty and old-timey stores
  • Staring at Amish people as they walked by you or drove by you in their buggy, and having their children stare at you
  • Getting spit on by the horse pictured above. While we were going on our little buggy ride, the horse blew some spit out while blubbering his lips, as horses do, and it all came back in our faces. Good times.

My World Right Now....

I wish I could say it was my daughter Abigail, my husband, or my church calling. Unfortunately, it can be summed up in this picture:

I like to refer to this room addition as "The Fountain of all Stress." One example I would like to give is a 20 hour period from last Friday night to Saturday afternoon. Friday around 8:00, Adrian sends me to Lowe's for some reciprocating saw blades, and I had to "hurry, hurry" because Lowe's closes at 9:00, so I get in the car and go. Lowe's is about 25 minutes from my house. About halfway there, Adrian calls me and tells me that he called Tractor Supply (which is much closer to my house), and they have what we need. I ask him "and they are still open?" He assures me they are, so I turn around and go to the tractor supply. When I arrive at Tractor Supply....guess what? They are closed, and I have to turn around and go to Lowe's anyway, but now I only have 30 minutes to get there. Then, on Saturday morning, he sends me on another trip to Lowe's. Then....not two hours after I get home, they want me to go back!!! Argument ensues, and I return to Lowe's for the third time in 20 hours.

I can't wait for this to be over!!
