You know you are old when...

Your celebrity crush is Russell Crowe.

I was innocently watching TV with my husband a few weeks ago and 3:10 to Yuma came on TBS. I tuned in for Christian Bale, and Russell Crowe stole the show for me, and now I am really looking forward to his slightly chubby portrayal of Robin Hood.

I watched him on Dave Letterman last night and giggled like a school girl. Why? Not sure....

Easter and a Tonsillectomy

Two weeks ago I took Abigail to an ENT and one week later her tonsils and adenoids were out.

I would just like to take a minute and thank my pediatrician for putting me off going to an ENT last year, (when it would have been free thanks to my C-section), wasting my time for another five months, and making it possible for me to pay for Abigail's surgery.

Anyhoo....Easter was a little bit of a downer this year because Abigail was in pain. Sort of. After her surgery between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, she would run around completely normal. Between the hours of 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM, she would cry and whine. It was a little bizarre.

But, we did head down to Adrian's parents for a little Easter egg hunt. It was nice. Abigail would stuff candy into Adam's mouth, that is why his face is covered in chocolate.

Adam is 1!!

Our baby is officially a year old. I can't believe it. The year has flown by. Adam has been such a joy! He is so happy and independent. And....his first word was mama!! I love that boy.

This is the cake I made him. (I've been taking a cake decorating class).

This is how Adam went crazy on that cake.

Blog, I almost killed you.

But, I changed my mind.

American Cheese

At some point in my adulthood I became a cheese snob. (Which is to say I quit eating cheese out of a can or that came individually wrapped in plastic.) I don't know why, I don't remember when I made the decision--I just stopped. But something happened last week. . . . my grocery store had a deal. If you buy $10 worth of items, you could get a package of their store brand American cheese singles for 1 penny. So, I thought, why not.

The next day I made tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. As we took our first bite, Adrian and I looked at each other in wonder. It was most delicious grilled cheese sandwich I had eaten in years. Adrian described it as "warm deliciousness exploding in his mouth."

All this week the baby Swiss that I bought at the same time as the store brand American Cheese has just sat there unopened. I hope it doesn't spoil.

The most ironic part of this story is our three year old refuses to eat the American cheese--only sharp cheddar for her (or extra sharp if you have it). .....sigh....Kids these days.

Halloween 2009

For the month or so before Halloween, I kept asking Abigail what she wanted to be for Halloween. I asked her if she wanted to be every princess I could think of, Tinkerbell, a fairy, a witch, etc. But she would usually say a kitty (what she was last year), so I bought her this Dalmatian costume because she loves the 101 Dalmatians movie, and I figured it didn't matter that much to her. Well, the day after I purchased the costume, she pipes up and says she wants to be Sleeping Beauty.....sigh. As you can tell from the pictures I talked her into the Dalmatian. She liked painting her nose.

Adam was wearing Abigail's first costume. The only difference is that she was two months old when she wore it, and he was seven months old. He is so little bitty.
